This year our PPI conference will be held on Wednesday 25 April in Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS), NUI Galway and the theme is Every Voice Matters.
Confirmed speakers include Dr Austin O’Carroll, a GP working in Dublin’s inner city, who will discuss his experience working with the marginalised over many decades. Professor Agnes Higgins of TCD will give an overview of service user involvement in mental health research and Dr Veronica Ranieri will talk about her experiences as a service user researcher. Another voice will be Wendy Costello sharing her journey as a parent of a child with a rare disease, from setting up a national family support network to her current involvement in research.

As in previous years, the conference is open to members of the public (free of charge), researchers and healthcare professionals with an interest in working in partnership with patients and the public to build reliable evidence to answer important healthcare research questions.
