Our PPI conference is happening very soon! Wednesday 25 April is the date, the conference takes place in the Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS), NUI Galway and the theme is Every Voice Matters.

Speakers include Dr Austin O’Carroll, a GP working in Dublin’s inner city, Professor Agnes Higgins, Professor in Mental Health Nursing at Trinity College, Wendy Costello, founder of a family support organisation for children living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Paddy McGowan, a mental health human rights advocate, Drs Seán Crossan and Conn Holohan of the Huston School of Film & Digital Media, NUI Galway, and Prof Seán Dinneen and Denis Mockler, who will launch the NUI Galway PPI Ignite programme.
Attendees can then choose to attend one of three Parallel Conversations, led by Dr Austin O’Carroll (Deconstructing Stigma), Dr Ruth McMenamin and Edel Tierney, NUI Galway (Spot the Difference: qualitative research versus PPI) and Dr Caitriona Creely, HRB (PPI in grant applications). Dr Fiona Keogh, CESRD, NUI Galway, will be the final speaker.
As in previous years, the conference is open to members of the public (free of charge), researchers and healthcare professionals with an interest in working in partnership with patients and the public to build reliable evidence to answer important healthcare research questions.
